Upcoming this month we feature the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame golf tournament featuring Future Hall of Famers Paul Quantrill and Roberto Alomar.

This week we look at an ideal swing characteristic called N-Posture and how it helps to set up the entire golf swing. Once again there are two fitness videos featuring Fitness Coach Cyril to back up the article, which are designed to help improve your posture for a better stance in order to shave off strokes. Third we step into the magnificent world that is the Muskoka Bay Club in our second edition of the ‘Must Play’ Local Ontario Golf Course series. Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame Golf Classic - June 18th

This month the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame will be inducting Roberto Alomar and Paul Quantrill – two of the finest players to ever don the Blue Jay uniform – into the Hall. The two World Series Champions will be visiting the St. Marys Golf and Country Club on June 18th for the Annual Baseball Hall of Fame Golf Classic. There are sure to be a slew of celebrities at the course on the 18th, so get your baseball cards, baseball hats, and cameras ready for one of the biggest days in the Hall’s history. Golfers lucky enough to be playing in the tournament will have the chance to play nine holes with a celebrity in a Texas-Scramble golf format. This is one of the biggest days at the club and one that you should have highlighted on your golf events calendar for 2010. Be sure to call the golf course and/or the Baseball Hall of Fame for more info.

Cheap Golf Days - $12 Golf Rounds

Two weeks ago we hosted the first BX 93 Golf Day and once again it was a big hit! The event sold out well before the actual day of the event. We are hosting $12, that’s right $12 golf rounds on August 23rd.

Our First Outdoor Wedding

One June 5th, the St. Marys Golf and Country Club was host to its first-ever outdoor, golf-course wedding. Michelle Bickell and her new husband Derek tied the knot between the #9 and #15 greens. The reception followed on the Driving Range tee-blocks and the party went well into the night. Congratulations Michelle and Derek!

Golf Fitness Academy: N-Posture

An ideal swing characteristic that helps setup the entire golf swing.

Previously, we have discussed the negative effects of poor posture at address on the golf swing, in the S- and C-Posture articles. This week we look at an ideal swing characteristic called N-Posture and how it helps to set up the entire golf swing.

A stable neutral pelvic posture – or N-Posture, occurs when the player addresses the ball with the correct amount of pelvic tilt. The player flexes at the knees and hips while maintaining a flat back and engaging their abdominal and glute muscles. When it comes to the golf swing the core is king.

Adjusting your setup to play an unusual shot is the key to a successful escape.

If you’re anything like me on the golf course, you have definitely lost a ball or two to out-of-bounds, on more than one occasion, costing you valuable strokes that affect your final score.

Dave Pelz of Score Golf examines what it takes to avoid those big numbers that really throw off your game and often carry onto the next two or three holes and make your round of golf feel like a ‘nice walk wasted’ as opposed to a pleasurable golf round with friends.
